EU GPU Prices: 6-Month Tracking Report

PriceSquirrel · Published 6 October 2026 · Data window: 6 April – 4 October 2026

Between April and September 2026, the average price of the same 141 Nvidia and 57 AMD graphics cards rose 32.6% and 22.0% at six EU retailers. Prices were flat through June and jumped in August and September.

Key numbers

  • Nvidia: average price €865 to €1,147 (+32.6%). The typical (median) card went from €634 to €861 (+35.8%).
  • AMD: average price €643 to €785 (+22.0%). The typical (median) card went from €676 to €821 (+21.4%).
  • Biggest monthly move: Nvidia +17.8% (August), AMD +9.9% (September). From April to June neither brand moved more than 1.4% in a month.
  • Biggest tier rise: RTX 5090, +47.0% (+€1,835 per card), based on 6 models.
  • No well-covered model got cheaper. Of 122 models sold by at least two retailers at both ends of the period, every one rose.
  • Coverage: six retailers across eight country storefronts in five euro countries: Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Finland.

Our September report showed larger figures (+41.3% Nvidia, +28.3% AMD) for roughly June to September, using a different method. See How this compares with our September report.

Headline: Nvidia up 32.6%, AMD up 22.0%

The typical Nvidia card went from about €634 to €861 and the typical AMD card from €676 to €821. Start is the 4-week average for Apr 6–May 3 and end is the 4-week average for Sep 7–Oct 4, for exactly the same models at exactly the same retailers.

AMD57€643€785+22.0%€676€821+21.4%

Nvidia's average is pulled up by the RTX 5090, which cost about €3,900 at the start, so the median is the better guide to a typical card.

Month by month: flat until June, then a jump in August

Nvidia's largest month-over-month move was +17.8% from July to August. AMD's was +9.9% from August to September. From April to June neither brand moved more than 1.4% in a month.

Average price of the same models at the same retailers, € per month. Nvidia €865 in April to €1,147 in September, AMD €643 to €785.

Each month-over-month figure compares the same model at the same retailer in both months. A month is the calendar month in which each full week starts, so every month holds four or five whole weeks. Each step uses its own matched model-retailer pairs, so the monthly figures compound to a slightly different total than the April-to-September headline.

By GPU tier: the RTX 5090 rose most, then the cheaper RTX cards

The RTX 5090 rose 47.0%, about €1,800 more per card, though that rests on only 6 models. Below it, the percentage rise generally shrinks as the card gets pricier: +37.4% for the RTX 5060 down to +21.9% for the RTX 5080. At AMD the cheapest tier, the RX 9060 XT, rose most.

All variants of a card (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and so on) are grouped under one tier.

By country: every market rose, with little to separate them

Nvidia cards rose between 29.5% (Finland) and 34.3% (Germany) on average, AMD cards between 16.5% (Finland) and 24.2% (Germany). The gaps between countries are small and the medians reorder them, so we would not rank the countries. Spain and Finland each rest on a single retailer.

Each country figure uses only the models in the basket that its retailers carry, so model counts differ by country. Italy, Austria, Portugal, Poland and Sweden are not shown: they either lack a retailer with data from April or price in non-euro currencies.

Biggest rises and smallest increases: no well-covered model got cheaper

We ranked the 122 models (83 Nvidia, 39 AMD) that at least two retailers sold on 10 or more days at both ends of the period. Every one of them rose, by 7.1% to 41.0% at AMD and 17.2% to 62.1% at Nvidia. Across the full 198-model basket only 3 models got cheaper, by 0.6% to 5.3%, and each was seen at a single retailer.

The tables show the five largest and five smallest changes per brand. Retailers is the number of retailers that carried the model in both periods. Prices are averaged across those retailers.

How this compares with our September report

In September we reported Nvidia +41.3% and AMD +28.3% for roughly June to the end of September. Those figures compared single-week endpoints and used every retailer in our data at the time, a set that grew over the period. Because prices rose every week, the result depends heavily on which week you end on. We re-ran that method on current data and tested how sensitive it is:

Method and windowNvidiaAMD
September report, as published+41.3%+28.3%

Same method, ending Sep 7+30.1%+20.9%
This report (same model × same retailer, 4-week averages, Apr → Sep)about +33%about +23%

Moving the end date by three weeks changes the Nvidia figure by about 9 points. That is the main reason the numbers differ, and it means neither set of figures is wrong: they answer slightly different questions. The September figures describe the change up to a single latest week. This report describes the change between two four-week periods for the same model at the same retailer, which is steadier and cannot be moved by a retailer joining or leaving.

Two corrections to the September report. It described Nvidia prices as plateauing between roughly €1,027 and €1,098. On a re-run the Nvidia average rose every week from late July to late September, so that sentence was wrong and has been corrected. We also could not reproduce the September Nvidia price levels exactly: the re-run averages are about €100 higher at both ends, while the AMD levels match within 1%. Treat the September Nvidia levels as approximate.

Method and limits

Every figure above compares the same models at the same retailers at the start and the end, so a retailer joining or leaving cannot move the result.

How the numbers were built

  • Window: 26 full weeks, Apr 6–Oct 4, 2026 (UTC). The current, incomplete week is excluded. Start = Apr 6–May 3, end = Sep 7–Oct 4, each a 4-week average.
  • Prices: scraped from retailer pages and feeds every 6 hours. Only in-stock rows with a positive price and no scrape error count. A model's daily price at a retailer is the average of that day's valid scrapes.
  • Same retailer pairs: a model at a retailer counts only with at least 4 valid days in both the start and the end period. A model enters the basket if it has such a pair and a valid price in at least 21 of the 26 weeks (80%).
  • Averages: a model's price is the average across the retailers that qualify for it, and the brand figure is the average across models. Medians are taken across models.
  • Cleaning: 24 rows priced above 3× or below 0.3× a model's median in its country were removed. All were AMD cards at one retailer outside the basket. Seven XFX cards listed twice in our catalog under the same EAN were merged.
  • Rankings: the risers table uses models with at least 2 retailers and 10 valid days at both ends.
  • Brands: Nvidia or AMD is read from the product name (GeForce/RTX versus Radeon/RX). Intel Arc (6 models) and workstation cards (7) are excluded.

What is covered

Six retailers have continuous data at both ends, across eight country storefronts: Alternate (Germany, France, Spain), NBB (Germany), Azerty and Megekko (Netherlands), Proshop (Finland) and LDLC (France). 27 euro-priced retailers appeared in our data at some point, but most joined after April or stopped before September, so a like-for-like comparison cannot use them.

Not covered: Poland and Sweden, whose retailers price in zloty and krona, and Italy, Austria and Portugal, which had no retailer with data at the start.

Basket size: 198 of the 294 Nvidia and AMD models seen in the window qualify (141 Nvidia, 57 AMD). The 96 left out were added after April, were not stocked at both ends, or were out of stock too often.

Limits to keep in mind

  • Scarce cards are underrepresented. Many of the excluded models are RTX 5090 variants with long stock gaps, so the basket probably understates the rise for the hardest cards to find.
  • Only in-stock prices are seen. When a card is sold out, we have no price for it.
  • Listed prices only. We do not adjust for VAT differences between countries, shipping or promotions.
  • Thin spots. Spain and Finland each rest on one retailer, and LDLC contributes only 24 model-retailer pairs. NBB's start prices rest on its first days of data, from about Apr 27.
