188 consumer ram kits that are in stock in at least two EU countries, priced across 21 tracked monetised retailers over 90 days. Here is which countries carry the biggest median premium over the continental floor — and where the cheapest listings live. Server memory (RDIMM, LRDIMM, ECC Registered) is excluded.

What "monetised" means here

This ranking only counts retailers where PriceSquirrel has an active affiliate relationship — the monetised set. We do that for three honest reasons: (1) we can only verify prices from stores whose feed or scraper we actively maintain; (2) we only earn when a visitor clicks through to a monetised store, so a price that doesn’t lead to a working affiliate link doesn’t belong in a public ranking; (3) adding stores we don’t have an affiliate link with would quietly include listings nobody can click on. The flip side is real: when a country only has one monetised store, that single retailer effectively is the country for this ranking. Thin-sample countries drop into "Single-store countries" below instead of competing with multi-store countries at the top.

Premiums shown are retail prices. They include each country’s standard VAT (Germany 19 %, France 20 %, Netherlands 21 %, Spain 21 %, Italy 22 %, Poland 23 %, Belgium 21 %, Finland 25.5 %, Sweden 25 %, Austria 20 %, Portugal 23 %) by default and exclude shipping, warranty differences and cross-border availability. Flip to Excluding VAT for a net basis a cross-border buyer who reclaims VAT at the border would see. We call this a premium, not a markup, because most of the spread between countries IS the VAT rate difference, not retailer margin.

From 2026-09-04 to 2026-11-02, the median EU in-stock price of this comparable-ram kit basket moved by +13%.

Sample: 25 of 188 comparable products, picked deterministically by product-id stride. The sample is stable from one cycle to the next so the chart's shape reflects real price movement, not basket rotation. Base 100 = €674.

This series is built on the fly from each product’s price history every six hours. We’re moving it to a daily backend snapshot that stores the index value server-side — same shape, same base, but computed from the full comparable universe instead of a sample.

How the index is calculated

For every ram kit with at least one in-stock listing in two or more EU countries, we take the cheapest in-stock price per country (converted to EUR using daily ECB rates for SEK/PLN).
The continental price floor for that ram kit is the cheapest country-level price across all tracked monetised stores.
Each country's premium = (country price − floor) ÷ floor, expressed as a percentage. The country that owns the floor scores 0 %.
The country's headline number is the median premium across all ram kits comparable in that country — resistant to outliers from a single high-margin SKU.
"Wins" counts the ram kits where this country has the cheapest EU listing. "Most expensive" counts the opposite. "Stores" counts the retailers in that country with at least one comparable listing this run.
Server-class memory (RDIMM, LRDIMM, ECC Registered) is excluded — distinct market from consumer UDIMM / SO-DIMM and sparse coverage across EU retailers.
A country enters the ranking only with ≥ 15 comparable ram kits and ≥ 2 monetised stores. Thin-sample countries are listed above under "Single-store countries".
Top cross-border gaps require both sides scraped within 48 hours, from different EU countries, same product id. No Amazon prices anywhere in this index (Amazon Associates programme rules).
